logan roy: ‘Succession’ Star Brian Cox says ‘Logan Roy Would

Actor Brian Cox asserted that his on-screen alter ego Logan Roy, the cynical media mogul at the centre of the HBO smash hit “Succession,” would not be a fan in real life. During an in-person interview at the Edinburgh TV Festival in Scotland, Cox stated, “Logan would hate me.” If Logan met me, he would tell me, “I wish Brian Cox would just shut the hell up.”

Despite Logan’s weaknesses, Cox says of the character, “I love him.” What I adore about Logan is that he’s self-made. In contrast to real-life tycoons like Trump, Murdoch, and Conrad Black, he did everything himself.

Adding to his character analysis, he states, “His curse is he loves his children.” If he didn’t love his children, his life would be much simpler.”

Cox also pondered on the similarities – or lack thereof – between himself and Roy, stating that he is the polar opposite of who I am. The only thing we share is a profound disillusionment with the human experience. We believe humans are screwed.

He adds, before playing Logan, I never swore as much as I did in that role.

Cox stated about his tendency to portray “bad guys” throughout his career, “I fell into it naturally. I have no idea why, but they view me as mildly threatening. I don’t consider myself a threat; I consider myself a pussycat.”

Cox also revealed that he would direct his debut film about a family-owned distillery the following year. He described the project as “The Quiet Man meets Local Hero.” He intends to film next summer.
