Cash-Strapped Pakistan sees a ray of hope as the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) approved the rollover of USD 1.3 billion facilities.

Taking to Twitter, Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced, “Formalities completed [and] Chinese Bank, ICBC approved rollover of USD 1.3 billion facilities which has been repaid by Pakistan to ICBC in recent months.”

He further said that the facility would be disbursed in three installments, the first one of USD 500 million has been received by the State Bank of Pakistan and added “It will increase forex reserves!”

Pakistan is currently facing growing economic challenges, with high inflation, sliding forex reserves, a widening current account deficit and a depreciating currency, reported Geo News.

Foreign exchange reserves were at USD 3.8 billion as of February 24, just enough for less than a month of imports. While the liquid foreign exchange reserves stand at around USD 9 billion which includes USD 5.5 billion in net reserves held by commercial banks.

Soon after the flowerpot theft video went viral, social media users claimed that the SUV in the video was seen in a video on Elvish Yadav’s YouTube channel with #ElvishYadav hashtag. According to them, the video was uploaded last year and shows Elvish in a car at a rally in Rajasthan. They shared screenshots from both videos, claiming that the car in the stolen flower pots clip and the one in the Rajasthan rally have the same registration number.

Suniel Shetty has confirmed that the third instalment of the ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise will be released, and he is excited to work on the project with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The actor, who played Shyam in the previous two films, announced the news on LinkedIn.

Suniel Shetty penned, “The following is a list of possible candidates: I’m excited to be back on set with Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. It took some time, as with all good things, but it’s a relief to finally have an answer to this question. It was followed by a sequel, “Phir Hera Pheri” (2006), with Shetty reprising his role as Shyam, Rawal reprising his role as Babu Bhaiya, and Kumar reprising his role as Raju.

The Himachal Pradesh government is contemplating a proposal to set up a Dedicated Investment and Facilitation Bureau in the state, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said. The chief minister was interacting with a delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Himachal Chapter.

This will not only help in providing all clearance and approvals in a time-bound manner but will enhance the momentum of investment in the state and play a pivotal role in making Himachal Pradesh as the most preferred investment destination for the investors, he said in a statement issued here on Thursday.

He said this bureau would provide a ‘one-stop solution’ for investors in various sectors such as industries, tourism, food processing, ayurveda, IT/Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS), power, health and education institutions.

The proposed Bureau will have vested powers for granting approvals and clearances for projects above Rs 10 crore.

The state government also plans to make essential changes in the Industrial Policy and give facilities to entrepreneurs to invest in Himachal Pradesh, Sukhu said.

He said that electric vehicles would be given added preference and urged the industrialists to invest in this sector so that we could maintain a green and clean environment.
